Future is not set in stone

First of, I want to say that this is not exactly Daily Prompt answer. While the title is the answer to it, I decided to take a different point of view. For a long time I belived (and still do) that future is not set in stone. Never was, never will be. Yes, there are possible futures, but in the end, it all comes to our decisions. With each decision the future splits into more and more paths. If we were in a world where magic was real, I’d say that with each decision a new alternative reality is created. And I mean with each decision of every person, because it all connects. The decision of one can affect many others.

Alas, we are not in a world swirling with magic, and even if we were, I wouldn’t try to predict my future. Because, by knowing or even trying to know your future, you’re limiting your options. With the future known, you can only chose two paths. The one that strives for it or the one that will try to avoid it. When you don’t know what will happen, you are not restricted by this and therefore free to think of something you might not otherwise.

Future should remain unknown until it becomes present, because all predictions and prphecies are self fulfiling. And that is just plain stupid! And anyway, why would you wanna know your own future? It takes away all the fun!

Procrastination

I have this bad habit of postponing anything important that I have to do. I would say that I have still a lot of time and say that I’ll do it tomorrow. Then that day I would say tomorrow again… I need to learn to do things as soon as I can, but seem to be unable to do so. Yes, unfortunately I’m lazy like that. And it is not that great.

So I decided that I would start doing things as soon as I can. Now, the only thing that’s left is to actually do so. And I do hope I will be able to do it. It would help me greatly with SO many things… So… Let’s just wait and see.

Why you shouldn’t play ongoing games

The answer is simple. They will consume a lot of your time. And even though you’re right now saying to yourself that it’s only a tem minutes a day thing, trust me, it will become an hour at least within just a few weeks. I know what I’m talking about. I was like that. And even now, I’m still playing these types of games.

I was much much worse though. I played for hours a day. Now I realy play just for about ten minutes a day and that’s several games that I deal within those ten minutes. And I mean ten minutes of pure playing. Not having the game opened in a second tab in my browser in order to be “online” to get my online reward.

So when you’re about to start to play one of these games, try to think first. Think if the game is realy worth it or if it is just you not having any other hobbies. Of course, sometimes the game can be a great way to relax. Expecially if it is a game in which you can kill something. I play a game like that when I’m angry. And it helps.

It’s just games are time consuming. And then you realize that there are a lot of things you wanted to do and didn’t have the time. Because you were playing games. And that’s why games are such a danger. Yes, they can be a source of a great pleasure and bonding time if you play multiplayer but your day should be more than that.
