Upside down

I just thought about something. I was looking at the subtitle of my page and decided to elaborate on it. But, first of all, in order for it to make any sense, you need to understand that I’m a big, big yaoi fan. Yaoi basically means gay. Not porn, definitely not porn, but gay themed with a story. The more english term would be slash.

So, now that you know that, let me explain one more thing. I hate the Bible! No, wait, let me explain. I do hate the Bible, and I hate the idea of one God up there somwhere. And the whole idea of christianity. But! I don’t hate people who are christian. I just don’t like it when they push their believes on me. I will never be a christian. Therefore, the idea of an ideal paradise-like heaven seems really funny to me.

And now for the main part. The part where I explain the “upside dosn” thing. Well, we’re not really exchanging the positions of anything. At least not litarary. You see, I have a very distinct idea of Hell. There are no “shaitans” there (don’t laugh! That’s what the dictionary said!). There are only sexy demons there. Mainly males, of course. This is how the Hell should look like. At least that is the Hell my imagination created.

Now, how the hell does this Hell come into it. Well, that’s easy. We simply switch the roles of Hell and heaven. And yes, heaven with small h – intentional! So, waht do we get? We get sexy demons who are the good guys and a manipulative old bastard of a god that might seem to want the best for everyone at first, but in the end, he’s just a power-hungry morron that wants to rule the world.

Think Dumbledore, but more… Omniscent? Yeah, that’s it, I guess.

Okay, so I think I completely lost my original idea by now. I mean, I was interrupted by mom in the middle of writing this! And she wanted a first aid band! Such a stupid thing to lose my idea over…

I think it was supposed to mock christianity, but in the end, I don’t really want to mock them, I don’t mind them having their believes. I just want to be left out of it. I don’t want them to push their believes on me. I will never be a regular visitor of a church. Unless we talk those old and hunted ones that are half abandoned at the edge of a forrest and surrounded by a creepy graveyard.

So, I guess that the point of this is to say – Believe in wahtever you want, but don’t force others to believe in the same thing, if they don’t want to.

Please, I would be interested in hearing what you think. I would like to know what you believe in, if anything. And if any of you are obsessesd with slash, do tell!

Sasha L. Miller – Playing with Shadows

Playing with ShadowsOkay, this story was so cool! A monastery in the middle of nowhere! A servant that is to be sacrificed to demons because there just doesn’t seem to be any other way. And then, an honest priest that wants to save that servant and deal with the demons.

Corrin, the servant, was supposed to be in the monastery eight more months. But, fate would not have that. So, when the head priest starts taking groups of servants to do this shady job of cleaning one and the same table again and again, Corrin is confronted by Rafferty. One of the priests. And he tells the servant all about the demons in the shadows and the sacrifice to apease them. The bloody sacrifice that will most like be Corrin himself. Unless, they do this ritual that would take care of the demons.

Corrin agrees to help. However, when he is one of the ones to clean the dreaded table, things start moving fast. So the next thing that happens is Corrin running to Rafferty and them barricading themselves in Rafferty’s room to do the ritual.

All’s well ends well. And the two of them start snogging and end up leaving to check on the other priests as the demons are exterminated.

A nice little story that captivates. It took a bit of time for me to finish it, but it was worth it. And it was from Amazon, and for free! Isn’t that nice?

So, it might not have that much of slash in it, but the atmosfere is great and anyway, just go and read it! I recommend it! Will definitely be looking into the author. Hopefully, there is more from them and hopefully, it is not too pricey.

Devil May Cry

As I mentioned Dante in the previous post, it got me thinking about actually introducing you to one of my favourite animes. The Devil May Cry anime. Why? Well… It has Dante! I mean, sexy half demon demon hunter… What do you want more? Oh, I know! For him to be real! xD But alas, we can’t have that so we have to do with just the anime and the video games.
I will not be going into the video games in this post, I’ll leave that for later. This is about the anime only.

So, Dante is a demon hunter in Capulet (I think…) city. He owns the shop Devil May Cry and for money, he goes and defeats demons that swarm the earth. Then, there is Morrison, his agent who hands him jobs.

Also, Dante is always short on money, because, his friend Lady, yes, that is what she’s called, always takes it from him. Well, he does owe her a huge amount… And then, there’s Trish. She’s a demon modeled after Dante’s mother. And she can control electricity to some extent. Honestly, I don’t know the full range of her powers.

Okay, so about the storyline.

It starts with Dante having to deliver a young girl – Patty Lowel – to some mansion in order for her to recieve her inheritance or something. He tries to refuse, but in the end, he does it.

They travel and are attacked by several demons. In the end, it is shown that this Patty is not the one the inheritance is for and she was only used as decoy.

Patty then starts hanging around Dante’s shop and some of the scenes are quite funny.

The plotline then continues with some missions, in the second, Lady is introduced and few episodes later, it’s Trish.

In total, there are twelve episodes and my favourite si ninth and sixth. The sixth episode has great music! I mean, the Rock Queen Elena Huston’s song is beautiful! Then, the ninth episode has POKER! Seriously, POKER! And that says it all! I like poker very much. And the version used in the anime, it’s interesting. Won’t go into it, though. That would take too much time, just go and watch the episode. It’s great! I promise!

Then, the last two episodes or so, there is the hell and underworld and the reason for Patty being there is finally uncovered. I again, won’t go into it. This time, because I just don’t remember it well enough. That part is boring anyway. I suggest you skip the last episodes. Well… probably not the first time, but if you watch it more than once, I don’t think the last episodes are interesting enough.

Other than that, the anime is great! I’ve read some reviews saying that it’s no good and so on and so forth, but still… It’s DANTE!

Sure, the games are so much more interesting than the anime, and the plotline is thicker and more thought out, but still, the anime is good. I wouldn’t say it is the best out there, that would be pushing it, but is certainly isn’t bad.
