Take that! You stupid Cube!

Tee Hee! Finally won against the cube! Yep, only needed level 30 characters. Oh, and it would have been nice for the guide I was using to be accurate… Well… I would probably want too much… It seems.

Because, for you to be able to fight the Undying one, you have to first make him immortal using the four parts found in the Cemetery level. Okay. Did that. Then, you have to run for it and get the weapon of power. Got that also. Next thing you need to do is to stun the fucker with the weapon and take out the parts you put in. Did also.

Only, in the gude it was that after you do this, he will be mortal or watever… Can a piile of metal even be mortal? Nevermind. Basically, after you take the parts out, he should be beatable. Only, he wasnt… So, I was freaking out, thinking there was a glitch, seeing as I was playing it as a mod…

And then, I decided to listen to the blabber that was being written on my screen. Something about a crystal of life. So, I went to it, found tainted ore, got it, had to stun him again, then I went and placed the tainted ore in and then I stunned him again. Only for him to be finally set aflame and beatable. So, the point is, this should have been in the guide and wasn’t.

Other than that, it was nice.

Just… I so don’t like the prison wall set. It’s so… I don’t know… Freaky?

Still, the game is nice and in time, I might play it again. With the same party. Hopefully, it will be much higher level at that point. And that means I will be able to win so much more easilly. xD

So, a bit more about the game as a whole. Like I said, I was playing it as a mod. Good for me, ne?

Also, while I don’t consider myself an expert on it, I certainly do consider myself somewhat knowledgeable. So, if you’re a Grimrock player and need help, feel free to ask.

I was watching some let’s play’s and I have to say… It is so creepy to watch it… Much much worse than playing it. I got no problem playing it, but I get scared watching it… Is that weird or what? I would say it is.

Okay, nevermind.

I’m just so glad I finally managed to play through the whole game. Now, it’s mod time. I will play through every single mod from nexusmods that is for grimrock. Already finished two. Might do one of them again with my epic party.

Heh, I might actually write about my Epic Party. xD

Okay, that’s enough for now.

See ya.

The Merchant’s Basement

Another great mod for Grimrock. This one is also very story driven. Although… Who would have thought that going for some wine would end up in defeating morronic trapped idiots that want to rule the world and saving witches from the villans hoards, ne?

BTW: Does anyone know wether that minotaur can be added to your party? is it just that you need to save him quickly? Or is it just dialogue and no minotaur at all?

Whatever. I was kinda dreading the boss fight, but in the end, I just went in it with all I had. Which ment freezing the fucker and then going at it with dismanteler (kudos to the creator for adding that sword!) and fireball spells. As the witch was high on firepower. Literally.

I had to backtrack several times and I thought I was a gonner when the two wardens appeared in that room with that single preasure plate. Only, thank god there was that button that lets you run away.

Moving-picture-winged-dragon-animated-gif

Oh, and I got a question. Is there a mortar and pestle in this mod or not? I addmit there were  practically no plants, but still, just curious.

On the other hand, the empty bottles came quite handy for holding down preasure plates. Hehe.

So, all in all, a good mod. Only thing I don’t like is that you cannot make your own characters. Like… the first one, I mean. I was trying to import Toorum, but no luck there… Still, even without him, it was a good play. Didn’t think I would finish this quickly though. Only started it today. A few hours ago…

Guess I should go back to playing with my two main parties. The Epic one that has imported portraits. And my starting one that has been through the first ten levels of the original Grimrock. (Was too much of a chicken to finish it)

By the way, is it just me, or are the prison walls really scarry? My main reason for not finishing the main game. Oh, and the fact that there were way too many goromorgs. I just don’t like those suckers!

So, if you want some action and hard puzzles, go play this mod. Supposedly there are two endings. I guess one is when Malbolna or what’s his name, asks you to get a dragon to free him. Only, you don’t have to. You can just go and get outa there. I’m not sure if that will result in fighting with the morron, or not, as I haven’t tried and went for the dragon instead, but you can try. Tell me what that does, kay?

Legend of Grimrock – The Missing Heir

HI,

It is already several days back, but I finished one of the mods for Legend of Grimrock I downloaded. This one was called The Missing Heir. I went with my team I played with before. And thank god I did. While I think it would be playable with a new team as well, it certanily made some things easier this way.

Like… The slug/naga/cyclops thingies. They were a pain in the ass. Mainly when I was battling against Master. The fucker was summoning a whole bunch of them and it just wouldn’t do. In the end I just went against only Master. No dodging and boxed by wall from all other sides. And that was the best way.

I admit I did need some help with some of the puzzles. But other than that, I have to say the mod is great and has unique story that calls for continuation.

Legend-of-Grimrock-Pre-Order-Trailer_7

The autor confirmed that they will make more mods. When? I don’t know, but from the message was clear they are planning it.

As for the mod, other than my ranting abotu Masters slugs… Story driven, though sometimes, when I was reading the dialogue, I did it while resting, as it was faster that way. I think it was appearing too slow. Other than that… I think there was no Dismanteler in the mod. That would be the only thing I didn’t like. Because, I just love that sword.

The most confusing part was probably the third/fourth floor. Had to ask for directions several times. And then in one of the Master’s chalenges, I thought I was trapped. Only, all I had to do was wait a little… So it went well.

If you’re a fan of Grimrock, go play this mod. You can get it from either steam or nexus. Though if you’re new to playing mods, I suggest you use already existing party to make it a bit easier for you. Though, it doesn’t make it easier by much. I had party level 13 and still, the slugs were hard.

Legend of Grimrock – Remake

Hi,

I found a great Grimrock mod. It is actually the remake of the original game as a mod. And while ti might sound dull to you, it sounds great to me! Because, you cannot import characters into the original game. There, you always have to start from scratch. And I don’t like that. I like to play with my party and I like to continue play with it.

And this mod, while it is essentially the same as the original game, there is one big difference. And that is that it is a MOD! And it lets you import characters.s6590

So I can play the original Grimrock with my already leveled up party! As well as my EPIC PARTY! Isn’t that great?!

And it is all thanks to someone nicknamed Komag.

Okay, that’s all. If you’re interested in this mod, I got it from nexusmods.

See ya.

Toorum

Hi,

Another post about Legend of Grimrock.

See, I finally figured how to play as Toorum. Whose name I thought was Toonam. For some reason. Guess the letters were so close together it made that name instead. I’m still not sure which one I like better. Guess Toorum though. Since that is the true name.

Okay, moving on. For those of you that don’t know how to make Toorum work, it’s easy. Start a new game, I suggest easy, at least for the first time playing with him, then, without doing anything else, name the first character Toorum and press Enter. And, voila, the game starts and your only character is Toorum. He has double the speed. However, if you die, it’s the end, because there is noone else there to bring you to the crystal of life, so be carefull. The first floor is a breeze, the second is not so bad either. Third is fine thanks to a lot of closing door. Fourth… At this point, it will be a breeze too.

Legend_of_Grimrock_screenshot_04 (1)

And as for the next floors, I can’t tell, I’m not there yet. I’m kinda dreading the troll on the sixth floor, but… Let’s say I will have to lure him to the gate that can be closed. It’s the only way. Otherwise, I fear it will kill me. Still… I’m not there yet.

What I am really looking forward though, is the part when I get teh dismanteler. Hell yeah! The best sword in the game! And the best looking one!

Yes, I know there are some people that say the best sword is the sword of Nex, but… It’s the Dismanteler! It has lightning! Come on! What more can you want?! ‘Cept the weapon of power to be held in the other hand… Wonder if I’ll be able to take the Undying one on…

Has anyone ever completed the game with Toorum only? Tell me! What was your boss battel tactic?

Tell me! I want to know. :)

Legend of Grimrock – Tips

Hi,

I just wanted to write some general tips for the game Legend of Grimrock which I came to like very much. Also, if you are a veteran in this game, it probably won’t be anything new to you. However, if you are new to this game and are looking for some generic tips, not the complete walkthrough, then I think you came to the right place.

Like I said, this is not the complete walkthrough. I would link to it, but I’m afraid that my blog would be again suspended for wrong links. And so, let’s go without links. If you’re looking for the complete walkthrough, just type it into google. The better ones should be the first few links.

Legend_of_Grimrock_screenshot_01

Okay, on with the tips.

First, when you find sacks, don’t just take the items inside. Take the sack too. It will increase your inventory space. I didn’t do this from the begining and had to drop some really nice items because of it. Therefore, I suggest you take the sacks. In the begining, it may be a bit overload, but still, I think it’s worth it.

Second. When you first encounter the troll, it is, I think, on floor six from the top. In all the walkthroughs I read, it says to stock up on healing potions, but I’ve got a better solution for you. In the walkthroughs, they will tell you a place, where you can eliminate the spiders that are there before the troll. It has closing gate. Well… Why not lure the troll there? It will allow you to rest between blows and regain your helth. Also, trolls cannot open any kind of door. As far as I know. Good to know, right?

Third. On floor Ten? I think it is ten. Well, basically, the second part of the temple. There are these weird fanatycal acolytic creatures whose name starts with G. However, that does not matter. What does, though, is the fact, that these morrons can open doors and gates that are openable from both sides. And trust me, it will complicate the situation a great deal! I admit that they can be defeated even through opening door, but still, it takes a lot more concentration to let them open it, slice them, and immediatelly close it again. And do this for as long as they breath.

Legend_of_Grimrock_screenshot_04 (1)

Fourth. Respwaning lizards on floor nine. Use them! Use them! They give quite a lot of experience. Noone says you have to clear the game fast. Enjoy it.

If you are not using any walkthroughs to help you, I suggest trying to jump in all the trapdoors. Only, save right before you do. Some lead to secrets, but some lead to your doom. Also, look closely on the walls. There are hidden buttons. And many of them open secret doors. And in the secret doors, there are a lot of powerfull stuff. And usefull stuff too!

Fifth and last. Use your brain. And save often. The game can kill you within seconds. However, if you are not sure, you are saving in a good position, create new slot so that if it is saved at a wrong time, you can load earlier position and try a different approach.

Legend_of_Grimrock_screenshot_04

Hope this helps some. And also, I’m not detailing the last three floors. Not at all, as I haven’t completed the game yet. And probably won’t for a long time. I mean, I was in the remote part of floor eleven that is just a breather between ten and twelve (The Prison), but then, I just trekked the whole way back up to level one. Why? Well… I wanted to go it again and look at every nook and cranny to find all I missed before because of the monsters. And then, I will stop by the respawning ice lizards to gain a few more levels. I think I will need it in order to beat the last three levels. No offence, but I think level twelve is not enough. Not with what I read about hordes of monsters, respwaning acolytes, golems, and of course, the undying one, or something…

Okay.

See ya.

Dungeon of Slyn

Note for you: This post was written a while back. I just didn’t get to posting it. Also, I apologize for my long absence. It was christmas and school was hectic and so on and so forth. Thanks for understanding. :)

I found this game by pure luck. At first, it looked weird. Like… There were like… Squares and you walked on them and it seemed boring. Only… I downloaded it from the windows 8 store and tryed it. And… I fell in love with it. Yes, it’s a very simple game, but all the best are. Well. Maybe not all of the best, but a lot of the best games are quite simple. At least in my book.

So, this game. Basically, the goal is to get to the last floor of a dungeon complex and defeat someone or something called Lord Slyn. No Idea what that is. Didn’t get there yet. My best is level 16 of the complex.

2bce0a43-d74d-42f5-aa9a-96704aa6777b

Okay. Moving on. On your way there you will encounter many many monsters and beasts. My recommendation is to get a unicorn horn as soon as possible. It can cure food poisoning. Don’t know if there is anything else that can, but unicorn horn is a sure thing. Then, there are several unique weapons. I think there is always only one, but I may be mistaken. One is Excalibur. I would recommend it if you play as a mage or paladin. Then there is the cleaver. Good for the warrior. And one more which name I don’t remember.

Okay. There are also items that are potions, armor and weapons, food, spellbooks, wands and most impornantly – scrolls. Those you just have to collect. I mean, yea, there is the amnesia scroll that is totally useless, but then there are teleportation scrolls, they can get you out of a nasty battle. Then, enchanting scrolls, good for enhancing your weapon and armor. And other scrolls are there too. Like… Remove curse one.

But enough of that.

Screenshot.10806.1000001

There is also a shopkeeper. Not on all of the floors, but on some of them you can find her. She sells various items. I would recommend to buy food from her, because, in the later levels, you will probably run out of it. I did and then I got the food poisoning, only, I was saved by the unicorn horn. That’s why I’m saying you need to get it as soon as possible. I understand that noone wants to kill a unicorn, but the horn is important. And if you have two, even better. You can keep one for healing and the other one as a weapon. It’s quite strong. Though… If you are a warr and you have that cleaver, I don’t know if I would switch…

So, what do you think? Interested in it? Would you try it?

Screenshot.10806.1000003

The only thing I doN’t like about it is that you need to combine both hands on keyboard and mouse. And it just doesn’t work when you keep both your hands on the keyboard and then you need the mouse… I mean, it can be played only on the keyboard, but with the mouse added, it’s faster. Anyway… I think they should add option that would allow players to pick their own keys for controling. Because then I would be able to set it all for left hand and have the right one free to control the mouse!

Fishing

Hi,

Lately, I’ve been playing Minecraft, as you know from my previous post. Well, you know waht is the best thing about it? Apart from finding diamonds? Well, it’s fishing! I like it. Yes, it can seem boring, but I really like fishing out enchanting books! I’ve got about ten of em so far. And with time, I’ll get even more. Basically, what I do, is fish all the time while enclosed within a stone fence.

Yes, sometimes, I leave it to go mining something or other, but most of the time, I play on hard difficulty and just fish. Occasionally killing a zombie or other creeps that stand around my fence. Of course, when I go mining, I switch to peacefull difficulty. I seriously don’t want to deal with mobs when I’m balancing on the edge of lava. Just, no.

Fishing

But the fishing is good. Really. Apart form enchanting books, you can get an enchanted bow or an enchanted fishing rod. And other stuff. Like strings, leather boots, well, those are not the best, but still, if you combine them, it is worth something… Oh well, whatever. I just like to fish. It’s fun.

See ya.

BTW: The picture is from my game. It’s me that’s fishing.

Magic: The Gathering

Hey, do you know Magic? No? Well… Your loss. It’s one of the best trading card games I know. And the first one I knew. I mean, there are duel monsters and otehr TCG, but Magic… I don’t know… I like it. And now, the impornant part – I got the computer version of the game. I started playing it yesterday, I think. It’s good. Only problem, it doesn’t have all the cards and that sucks! And I haven’t found a way to make a deck that would be green/black, which is what I play with in real life.

96

Yes, it may just not yet be unlocked, since there is a black/white combination, but still, I wonder… Guess I’ll just have to see. But not today. Today I’ve already played a lot. And got stuck on this guy that has these white cards that just summon all these tokens and it’s a hell… They’re unstoppable! But I’ll find a way! Just not today.

See ya.

Morons in my class

Today, in one of my university classes, I was sitting next to this guy. He had a laptop and he was very distracting. And I don’t mean him personaly. It’s more what he was doing on that laptop. Don’t wory, it wasn’t porn or anything… He was just playing video games. That would have been fine, if! If that moron wasn’t playing some of my favourite games… One was Mount&Blade. The second was the new Devil May Cry game – DMC Devil May Cry.

4d643083d61f8cb8d87058400ef9d3d4

And like I said. It was very distracting! I kept glancing at his screen and I was imagining the way I would play it. And what I would do different… And I kept comparing his version of Mount&Blade with mine. It was different. And I’m not sure which I like better… And his was in english. I have mine in czech. Maybe one day, I get myself the expansions, because I’m sure that is what he had.

As for the DMC, let’s say… I think I can do better than him. He was slow. Some of the moves, I don’t know. Either he was playing it for the first time, or he’s like really lame! By no means do I consider myself an expert, but I’m pretty good at it. Not the best, far from that, but I’d like to think I’m at least a little bit above average.
